Walk Highlands

Walk highlands' mission is to encourage the enjoyment of walking through being the best information source and social network for walkers in Scotland. Walk highlands is the busiest walking site in the UK and far and away the busiest outdoors website in Scotland, with 500,000 unique visitors checking in each month.

Cape Wrath Trial

This website has been developed as a resource for people planning an expedition on the Cape Wrath Trail in Scotland. It supports a new guidebook to the route which will be published by Cicerone.

Heritage Paths Scotland

The purpose of the project is to collect as much knowledge of old paths in Scotland as possible and to promote the existence and the heritage of these paths. It is hoped that by providing this information it will give an added dimension to your walks when you discover these lost pathways for yourself.

The West Highland Way

The West Highland Way stretches 96 miles (154 Km) from Milngavie to Fort William, taking in a huge variety of scenery along the way, from countryside parks to loch-shores and open moorlands to steep mountains.

You may be planning to travel by boot, boat or bike, or perhaps you are interested in finding out more about this spectacular long distance route. There are 79 miles of path, track, canal and loch to discover. Get set for your own special journey.

Affric Kintail Way

The Affric Kintail Way is a fully signposted, superb cross-country route for walkers and mountain bikers stretching almost 44 miles from Drumnadrochit on Loch Ness to Morvich in Kintail by Loch Duich. Given the proximity to the Great Glen Way (Inverness - Fort William)

North Coast 500

The North Coast 500 (NC500) was created in 2015 by the North Highland Initiative.  Bringing together a route of just over 500 miles of stunning coastal scenery, the route path naturally follows the main roads across the coastal edges of the North Highlands taking in the villages and towns of places like Ullapool, Durness, John O'Groats, Dornoch and Inverness.

Hebridean Way

The Hebridean Way offers keen hikers or cyclists a unique opportunity to travel the length of this spectacular archipelago. Over the course of 156 miles (252km) the route crosses 10 islands and includes two stunning ferry journeys.
