The Shelter Stone Raid, July 2017 | On the Adventure Trails - Scotland
Something Ive really wanted to do for a while now was, what I've called "The Shelter Stone Raid" now was the time to tick it off the list! The Raid consisted of a short 8 mile loop starting at the Cairngorm Ski centre, over the edge of Cairn Gorm and down Coire Raibeirt to Loch Avon, sleep overnight at the shelter Stone then back up and over Stob Corie an t-Sneachda, down into its Coire, then a nice gentle run back to the carpark the next morning. This little adventure was everything I wished for. NOTE: The Actual Shelter Stone, occupied, was behind the one I stayed in !
Trail Running, Loch Coruisk to Elgol, Skye - April 2017 | On the Adventure Trails Scotland
Trail running from Loch Coruisk to Elgol on the Isle of Skye, approx. 8 miles. We took the Bella Jane boat into Loch Coruisk and ran the coastal path back, crossing the "Bad Step" and getting some spectacular views along the way.
Schiehallion to Kinloch Rannoch, June 2017 | On the Adventure Trails - Scotland
A little bit of Schiehallion shenanigans. Trail running from the mountain to the little village of Kinloch Rannoch. The route was just under 10miles, what a lovely day we had for it, for a change ! I'm not admitting to have taken my drone all the way up there only to find that id left the controller in the campervan !! Doh !! :-)
Corrour Station - Ben Alder Bothy, June 2017 | On the Adventure Trails - Scotland
Fastpacking around Ben Alders local Munros. Approx. 29 miles and 6000 feet of ascent, a night at Ben Alder Cottage Bothy, the spooks weren't around the night I stayed ! .
Fastpacking is a brilliant sport. Simply put, it’s a sport where you strap a small amount of gear, food, and water on your back and go running and power hiking for days at a time. Where you sleep under the stars wherever your feet have landed you. Where you cover big miles and earn even-bigger views.
